City Creek Center
Welcome to the latest attraction in Salt Lake City, which opened recently in March 2012. This project replaced the old ZCMI Center and Crossroads Mall establishsed back in the 1970s. The structure stretches virtually 20 acres in the heart of the city. Pedestrian traffic held precedent in the design of the new city center.
The idea of a modern development was sparked by the need to strengthen the economy of SLC. Downtown was transformed over a course of more than ten years. It now homes prominent corporate offices, residential towers and several retail stores. City Creek Center delivers a friendly and sophisticated atmosphere. A festive mood is provided by the current lights and holiday decor. |
ArchitectureNatural lighting shines through the retractable glass roof that remains open for clear days and closes to shelter shoppers from cooler inclement weather. Fountains provide a spectacular display for passerby's visual pleasure.
Preservation of the ZCMI Center store front captures the image of history and modernity. |
LandscapeThe creek flowing through the middle of the mall keeps you close to nature and provides several spots to sit, reflect and rest from the bustling crowds. Combination of rocks, trees and water add contrast to the scenery.
PortraitThe mall surroundings remain clean and sharp. Several spots of landscape or architecture across the City Creek proverty provide dynamic backdrops for singles or couples. An image of a child playing near a fountain will perserve the innocence of youth.
